According to the USDA, Oklahoma ranks eighth in the nation in the number of people per capita who are hungry. We are seventh in the nation in those who are food insecure, which means that the food intake of some household members is reduced and normal eating patterns disrupted because the household lacks money and other resources for food. This is especially true for the people of the inner city.

Dream Center OKC meets basic needs for food and clothing for hundreds of people every month. Trust is built and relationships and formed, allowing our team to help people identify long-term solutions. A resource center provides customized assistance and referrals to drug treatment programs, job training, GED classes, and much more.

DC PANTRY

The food pantry provides healthy perishable and non perishable groceries to families in need.  Our food pantry is on the 4th Saturday of the month, with the exception of November and December when it will be on the 3rd Saturday in order to accommodate the holidays. On the 4th week of the month beginning on Monday we will begin to accept clients via the link at the bottom of this page. The list will be open from Monday to Thursday on the 4th week of the month. After we have received your information we will email you back with a time to come on the 4th Saturday and drive thru to pick up your groceries. If you complete the link on that Friday or on the weeks that we don’t have the drive thru pantry you will not be on the list. We also do emergency food the other weeks of the month.

Emergency food is now the DC Pantry! We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 1pm.  The link below is only for the drive thru pantry which is on the 4th Saturday of the month(in most cases).

We have opportunities for you to serve at the DC Food Pantry as well. You can assist us in preparing the food boxes which go out during the drive thru pantry or you can help prepare the bags that go out for emergency food the other weeks of the month. If you have a school, church, or youth group. Or if you are needing to do community service contact us to get more details.

Donations to our food pantry are greatly appreciated, as they help make this program possible. We accept non-perishable items such as canned veggies, canned meats, canned fruit, ramen, ravioli, mac and cheese, oatmeal, cereal etc. If you are able to donate 100 or more of the same item it really goes along way. We serve over 250 families each month that is approximately 6,300 pounds of food that go out of our doors each month and into the community. Help us reach, rescue and restore people through meeting basic needs such as food insecurity.

DC Resource Center

The Community Resource Center opened in January 2014. The Resource Center provides customized, relational help to families seeking assistance. Clients are connected with the assistance they need from a variety of community partners. Through this new initiative, we are helping adults find employment, providing information on education options for parents or their children, referring people to substance abuse treatment facilities, and much more. The Community Resource Center, which extends the impact the church has through its programs by working with like-minded agencies and ministries throughout the metro.

Volunteers are needed to work 1-on-1 with adults seeking assistance. Volunteers who could teach a class for adults in cooking, nutrition, fitness, child-parent relations, the education system, and other topics are also needed.

Donations of gas cards, bus tickets, diapers, and computers are needed to more effectively assist the community.

Gas cards and bus tickets can help adults get to new jobs or important appointments. Diapers and other baby items help new parents with expenses not covered by other programs. Computers and related equipment allow the Resource Center to assist adults in looking for employment and resources.
